Later this year I will be having my first solo show in Melbourne at Beinart Gallery.
I will use this space to post updates and progress images. I have a very strong outline for this body of work and am really excited to see how it turns out. I will be focusing more on animals and birds with an emphasis of narrative and exploring some big 'life stuff' that is happening at the moment.
Below: Some WIP images of my first piece for the show. It makes me laugh looking at the early layers as the bear looks a bit like a muppet. I have painted animals before but the is the first time I am trying to build in a sense depth using many many layers. Lots of learning which I love. This painting is called 'The Treasure Hunters'. It isn't finished yet but hopefully will be shortly.
